Ten Years After został założony w 1966 roku przez klawiszowca Chicka Churchilla, perkusistę Ric'a Lee, gitarzystę Alvina Lee i basistę Leo Lyonsa. Zespół eksperymentował z psychodelicznym dźwiękiem w późnych latach sześćdziesiątych i na początku lat siedemdziesiątych.
